Covid-19 Support and Advice

Help with Covid-19 problems

Warlingham Parish Council and Chelsham & Farleigh Parish Council would like residents to know that they support the Coronavirus Aid Chelsham, Farleigh and Warlingham organisation and, with Tandridge District Council, have provided it with funding to support residents in this current emergency.

The organisation has a group of 40 dedicated volunteers helping with shopping, prescription collections and other errands. The call handlers are able to steer people in the right direction if they need extra financial support. A donation bank operates three days a week at the Village Hall. There is also a Welfare Group and a weekly non-profit grocery box scheme.

If you know of anyone in need of its services, please call 07547 023779.

The Tandridge Voluntary Action team is here to help you to support local communities through the COVID 19 pandemic.

We have a small team, working with Tandridge District Council, recruiting volunteers and understanding the needs of groups like yours, so that we can support local people.

Directory of community initiatives for vulnerable people in the district

To help you and local people access support - Tandridge District Council (TDC) and TVA have compiled an online directory with contact details on the TDC website.

Examples of support available to those who are vulnerable or self-isolating include:

  • Help with essential shopping, prescription collection and dog walking.
  • Emotional telephone support for those who are lonely, isolated or are carers.

We will continue to update the directory, so please refer back to it regularly, as well as share the information with anyone you know who could benefit.

Volunteering

Tandridge Voluntary Action has received interest from over 200 new volunteers in the last week. As the situation evolves in the next few days, there may be more need emerging in some areas of Tandridge, particularly in relation to vulnerable people. We will work with you to ensure you have more volunteers to assist you.
